You can support those affected by mito by making a donation in memory of your loved one.
Losing a loved one is one of the hardest things you may ever have to face. But during a time of sadness, finding a way to honour the memory of your loved one can be of some comfort.
Donations made in memory are extremely special to us, as is the knowledge that your kind generosity will be helping more families affected by mitochondrial disease. You can donate in memory in a number of ways:
Make a donation in someone’s name
You can donate through JustGiving with a one-off charitable donation or monthly payment letting us know who your donation is in memory of.
Set up a Team fundraising page
Another option is to set up a Team fundraising page, which will be one central fund inspired by someone special to you. It’s an amazing way of seeing exactly what a difference you can make as a group inspired by someone you all have a collective love for. As well as fundraising, you can share special memories, photographs and stories about your loved one.
Family, friends and colleagues can support a charity Team fundraising page by making donations and/or taking part in charity challenges or The Lily Foundation events and linking these to the page, bringing everyone's support together in one place.

Collect funds at a funeral or memorial
Collecting donations at a funeral can help support The Lily Foundation with our vital work in fighting mitochondrial disease. We understand that this is a difficult time but your support will make a lasting difference in memory of your loved one. You might choose to do this by asking for donations instead of flowers, or you may hold a collection at a celebration of life service or memorial event.

- Our collection envelopes allow people to add Gift Aid, increasing each donation by £2.50 for every £10 donated at no cost to them.
- Our Lily pin badges are a lovely thank you and memento.
- Our collection boxes provide another easy way to donate.
