Support

18 March 2025

Living with mitochondrial disease – or caring for someone who does – can be overwhelming. In our first Lily Zoom Room, Dr Ben Marram, Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist, shares insights, practical strategies and support to help patients, families and loved ones live well, cope better and navigate life’s challenges.

Watch the recording of The Lily Foundation’s first quarterly Zoom Room, designed to educate and empower the mitochondrial disease community on a variety of topics.

“Why is it so hard to be happy?”

“Why is life so difficult?”

“Why do we suffer so much?”

These are the questions that ‘come up’ when living with a rare condition like mitochondrial disease (including as a family member of someone affected). Inevitably, we’re left wondering how we even begin to think about creating a life that’s rich and meaningful when facing or having faced so much pain and uncertainty.

In this brief Zoom Room, Dr Ben Marram, Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist, hopes to offer education, support and some strategies that might help you face and answer some of these questions in order to ‘live well’ and ‘cope better’.

Suitable for people affected by mitochondrial disease, their families, friends or colleagues, and for those who may have lost someone to the condition.
