Team Aidan
Born in August 2012, Aidan was a healthy baby boy, but just before his 1st birthday he started to lose muscle control and was sadly diagnosed with mitochondrial disease. The disease had a devastating effect on his body and he struggled to breathe without a ventilator.

Aidan died on 1st March 2014 at the Royal Alex Children’s Hospital in Brighton. Despite all the medical tests, and time he spent in hospital on life support and other machines to help keep him alive, Aidan never stopped smiling. He rarely cried and he taught all of us to be brave just like him.
The Lily Foundation provided our family with practical and emotional support as soon as we received Aidan’s diagnosis and we still attend the Family Weekends to support other families through their loss. Through the years we’ve held many fundraising events as Team Aidan, raising money for The Lily Foundation. Thank you for your support.
