So far we’ve funded over 20 research projects in our search for treatments and a cure for mitochondrial disease
Supporting medical research into mitochondrial disease is a fundamental aspect of our research strategy, not only because it could potentially lead to a cure but also because it helps to improve lives in the meantime.
Our annual research grant call awards up to £200,000 per year to UK-based medical institutions who can demonstrate their commitment to discovering innovative treatments for mitochondrial diseases. Since 2016 we’ve funded over 20 research projects that aim to restore mitochondrial function, reduce symptoms or improve quality of life.
