The five project leads from the LifeArc Centre standing in front of the House of Lords

We’ve recently been sharing a brief glimpse of an unforgettable moment – the launch of the LifeArc Centre for Rare Mitochondrial Diseases at the House of Lords.

Now, we’re inviting you to take a closer look.

In this extended video, you’ll hear directly from the centre’s visionary leads as they speak about their excitement around the start of the project and what they hope will come out of the Centre to accelerate research, empower patients and change the trajectory of rare mitochondrial diseases.

Alongside Lily’s own Clare Chatfield, Professor Patrick Chinnery, Professor Rita Horvath, Professor Mike Hanna, Professor Robert Pitceathly and Professor Robert Taylor are the voices behind the Centre’s bold vision. We’ll be hearing a lot more from them in the coming months.

We also hear from mito patient Harry and his mum Mandy. Their hope for the LifeArc Centre for Rare Mitochondrial Diseases reminds us why this work matters.
