Making a difference through personal experience

Last Thursday, local news programme BBC Points West ran a story about Lily team member Sarah and her motivations for joining the charity.

Sarah lost her two daughters to mitochondrial disease in 1996 and 2002, and first came across Liz and The Lily Foundation back in 2018. She immediately began helping families affected by mito and raising funds and awareness for the charity, before more recently becoming Corporate Fundraiser.

We were delighted that broadcasters Alex Lovel and Imogen Sellers made time to also mention the fluffy friends involved in our Share a Bear campaign which was aimed at raising awareness of the disease during World Mitochondrial Disease Week – a big thank you to them both!
