Caring for a seriously ill child is one of the most draining and difficult tasks a mother can face, and often goes unrecognised in wider society. Mitochondrial disease has an impact on the whole family, which makes parenting an even tougher task than usual.

Amazing 'mito mums' are the beating heart of The Lily Foundation. They help to raise awareness, organise and run fundraising events, take part in sponsored runs, provide support to other families and much, much more. They truly are superhuman!

That's why this Mother's Day we'd like to celebrate mito mums everywhere. If you know a remarkable mother to a child with mitochondrial disease, send us an email (no more than 200 words) saying why you think she's fabulous, and we'll feature it on our website.

Email details to [email protected] by Monday, March 25th to be sure your submission is included.

Please be sure to get permission from the person you've chosen before sending us any information, and include a photo if you can!

With your help

So little is known about mitochondrial disease.

With her help, with your help, The Lily Foundation will fund research that can one day find a cure.

Please donate what you can to help us keep fighting mito and finding hope for all those affected by this incurable condition.
